Fruit from the Groves - March

The next CGHI meeting will be held on March 12, 7:00 p.m., at the Brevard Christian Church. The agenda will include further discussion on the residential development, the Lakes of Cocoa Grove. Commissioner Delaney, District #1, has accepted an invitation to attend the meeting. Be prepared to ask questions and voice your concerns regarding this development. Additional details can be found in the previous Happenings, Sleepy Hollow, www.happenings.net/.

Many plants have suffered after the past winter freeze. After giving the plants time to recover, pruning the dead foliage can begin. If the amount and size of cuttings exceed yard trash containers, they can be placed at the roadside for pickup. Waste Management must be called, 321-636-6894 or contacted via the web, www.wm.com/us/en/home/bulk-trash-pickup/ for a scheduled pickup. Large household items, furniture, mattresses and appliances must also be scheduled for pickup.

In some locations, large piles of yard trash and household items have been sitting on the roadside for extended periods. Please help keep our roadways clean by contacting Waste Management to schedule a pickup.

As of this writing, the Brevard County Commission has issued a burn ban. This measure prohibits all open burning including bonfires, campfires and yard waste incineration throughout incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

Traffic laws are being strictly enforced by a joint team of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and FHP on the Brevard County section of I-95. Speeding infractions are no longer being forgiven with a warning. All speeders will be ticketed. Slow down and drive safely.

Please support our homeowners’ organization as it works to support our community. Membership dues are now due for 2026.
