ADULT EVENTS

Community Advocate: Monday, April 13 and 27, 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. The community support advocate assists with housing, SNAP, social security, healthcare, insurance and senior resources.

Port Readers Book Club: Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. At this meeting, we will discuss Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. Pick up the book for May: The Crow Trap by Ann Cleeves.

Book Worms Book Club: Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. Join the group for a lively discussion of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Pick up May’s title The Rent Collector by Camron Wright.

Gentle Chair Fitness: Join us on April 6, 13 and 27 at 10 a.m. Join others for a FREE 45-minute gentle fitness and exercise class. No equipment necessary. Just wear comfortable clothes. There will not be a class on Monday April 20.

Adult D & D: Saturday, April 11 & 25, 3:00 to 4:45 p.m. Roll the dice for an adventure of a lifetime!

Yarn Club – Fridays 3, 10, 17 and 24, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Yarn Group of PSJ Library: The yarn group is a group of adults that enjoy knitting and crocheting. They are happy to help you learn. All levels are welcome. They donate projects and meet every Friday at the Port St. John Public Library.

Spice Travelers Spice Club ­– April 16 the new spice will be available at the Reference Desk. Chimichurri!!!!

Gardening Event: Saturday, April 4, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Activities may include seed-planting, gardening tips or garden-related craft. Ages 5 and up with adult supervision.

A Seed Library is sprouting at the library! Check out seeds each month to grow your own food or flowers at home. Enjoy affordable, sustainable gardening, donate seeds to share with others and return often for new seasonal varieties and planting tips.

APRIL YOUTH SERVICES EVENTS

Family Movie Night — Mondays, 4:00–6:00 p.m. Have fun watching G or PG-rated movies. Adult supervision required.

Kids’ D&D: Sundays, 3:00 & 3:30 p.m. A staff-led, beginner-friendly tabletop role-playing adventure where players create characters, roll dice and collaboratively tell a fantasy story for children ages 8–13. Space is limited; kids will be split into parties of five. Adult supervision required.

Game Day: Sundays, 1:00–4:00 p.m. Board, tabletop and card games in the main library area. All ages welcome. Adult supervision required.

Beginners' Chess: Saturday, April 4, 10:00 –11:00 a.m. A program for kids ages 6–12 to learn the basics of chess in a no-pressure environment. Adult supervision required; held on the first Saturday of each month.

Sensory Playtime: Tuesdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m. A sensory-friendly play event for ages 3+, featuring hands-on activity bins with kinetic sand, rice, beans and more. Adult supervision required.

Read Your Way to K: Toddler Story Time, Thursdays & Fridays, 10:30–11:00 a.m. For children ages 3–5. Adult supervision required.

Playdate: Thursdays & Fridays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. For babies and toddlers five and under. Adult supervision required.

Little Movers & Groovers: Thursdays, 9:30–10:00 a.m. A fun movement program for toddlers five and under. Adult supervision required.

Little Laptime — Monday, April 13, 20 and 27, 9:30–10:00 a.m. Short stories and nursery rhymes for babies ages 1 and under. Adult supervision required.

TEENS

Chess Club, Saturday, April 18, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Designed for ages 13–17, Chess Club offers a relaxed, non-competitive space for teens to play friendly chess matches. Adult supervision required.

Teen D & D: Saturday, April 4 & 18, 3:00 –4:56 p.m. A staff-led, beginner-friendly tabletop role-playing adventure where players create characters, roll dice, and collaboratively tell a fantasy story. This event is for ages 14-17. Adult supervision required.
