St. Patrick’s Church - June
June offers us a meaningful opportunity to honor fathers and father figures who guide, protect and nurture their families with love and strength. In Scripture, we are reminded of the faithful example of St. Joseph, whose quiet obedience and steadfast care reflect the heart of a godly father. As we celebrate Father’s Day this month, we give thanks for all those who lead with patience, wisdom and compassion, and for the many ways they reflect God’s love in our lives.
This June also invites us to reflect on the gift of the Church itself as we celebrate Pentecost—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and the birth of the Church. It is a powerful reminder that we are not alone, but are continually guided, strengthened and renewed by God’s Spirit in our daily lives and in our community together.
While June is a quieter month for special events at St. Patrick’s, it is also a time of anticipation as we look ahead to our annual Independence Day celebration, especially meaningful this year as our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding. On Saturday, July 4th at 5:30 p.m., we will gather for a special Celebration of Worship, followed by our annual church BBQ and potluck. The church will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns and condiments, and we invite everyone to bring a side dish or dessert to share. This is always a joyful evening of fellowship, food and community, and we look forward to celebrating together.
Our regular events continue throughout June and remain a vital part of our church life. Beginner Bridge meets on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m., offering both learning and fellowship. Our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group will meet on Tuesday, June 2nd at 9:30 a.m., providing meaningful support and encouragement for families navigating this unique and important role.
On Friday, June 5th from 6:00–8:00 p.m., our First Friday Family Fun Night returns with an intergenerational program designed for everyone to enjoy. The Ladies Fellowship and Craft Group will meet on Monday, June 15th at 6:00 p.m., welcoming all for a time of creativity and connection.
We will also host our Veterans, Veteran Spouses and First Responders Breakfast on Saturday, June 27th at 9:00 a.m. This gathering is a special opportunity to come together in gratitude and fellowship, honoring those who serve and support our community in so many ways.
Regular worship at St. Patrick’s continues throughout the year with Sunday Mass at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., and a Wednesday evening Mass at 6:00 p.m.
Morning Prayer is offered Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. via Facebook Live (www.facebook.com/StPatspsj).
Adult Sunday School opportunities remain available as we continue to grow together in faith and understanding. Please note that our student Sunday School will take a brief summer break during the month of June.
